It’s the last day of September, and usually that means the fall weather has really started to kick in. Sadly here in Colorado, we’re still sitting in the 80s (or higher in some areas) with little snow anywhere to be found. But meteorologist Chris Tomer has some good news for snow loving folks in British Columbia.
Chris Tomer has been in the mountain meteorology consulting industry for around 20 years, working for major mountaineering operations around the world. This includes expeditions on all fourteen 8,000 meter peaks around the world. In his Mountain Weather Updates, Tomer provides valuable snow-related information for skiers and snowboarders across North America, with his love for and experience in the mountains shining through in his videos.
The lower 48 United States aren’t looking so good when it comes to snow over the next ten days. Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and many other states are looking at very little weather throughout the period. In British Columbia, however, several storms will bring some snow accumulation to locations over 7,000 feet. Kicking Horse is looking at a potential 1 inch of snowfall, Whistler Blackcomb is looking at 2 inches, and Marmot Basin could be closer to 3 inches.
